What is Exclusive?
Exclusive agency is a type of agency the real estate office has with its client. When you see a real estate sign that displays "EXCLUSIVE" or an ad that states "EXCLUSIVELY OURS", you as a buyer DO NOT have to contact that office. You can contact ANY real estate office to obtain information regarding that property. That "EXCLUSIVE" sign or "EXCLUSIVELY OURS" ad is only telling other real estate offices the type of agency that office has with its client. If the property was listed in a multiple listing service, there would be no need to have the words "EXCLUSIVE" or "EXCLUSIVELY OURS" displayed anywhere. If the property was listed in a multiple listing service, other offices would already know what type of agency that real estate office has with its client.
The information about the properties on this site are in the multiple listing services and other member real estate offices already know what type of relationship I have with my clients. That's why you won't see the words "EXCLUSIVE" or "EXCLUSIVELY OURS" next to my website listings or on my signs. If you are a property owner, it's the details that count. Think about it.
